the ace

I know I just did a blog post on a hotel but I've been short on inspiration lately and I ran across some pics of the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs and I just thought it was so fun.  The feel of the place is sort of a cross between 60's to 70's hippie and modern surfer rolled up in a safari tent.

Everything appears to be cutely and cleverly detailed, while the rooms are simple and relaxing.  All the wall surfaces are covered in a sort of slat wall shutter or tent fabric which give them a really unique environment and feel- taking away that same old same old box hotel room.

Don't you just love the breezy feel of the rooms?

Many of them also have eclectic sitting areas in the rooms.

And then there are the fabulous outdoor patios off the rooms.

And then there are lots of other cool places to relax...

What a fun little vacation spot!  Who knew that an old Howard Johnson and Denny's could be turned into such a cool little place!  And obviously you can bring the whole family since The Ace is dog friendly.:)
