aaaaannnddd I'm back- again
I hadn't really planned on taking a two week plus break from blogging but sign on issues while in Kauai and a ridiculously old router that decided to finally die kept me from sharing all things cool and wonderful with you. I'm now back on the mainland and the proud owner of a shiny new router- and I'm being super serious- the thought of consistent access to the internet is blowing my mind right now.
In case you didn't catch that, I've been in Kauai for the last two weeks- yes, I'm incredibly blessed in so many ways, but I'm glad to be home. Although I'd be lying to you if I said I wasn't missing the gorgeous sunsets and crystal clear waters.
There are very few places that can truly be called paradise.
I think Jackson was slightly disturbed to wake up in a place with out palm trees rustling in the tropical breezes- every morning we would sit by the pool while I nursed him to the sounds of palm fronds gently swaying in the cool morning winds. Those palms really grew on him, their movements and sounds, hypnotic and soothing.
There is no better way to start the day.
Or spend the afternoon. :)
Kauai has become a special place for my family, where we go to celebrate, to relax. Kauai is a small island, it's sharp mountain peaks and hillsides covered with lush and wild vegetation that stops only when the sand starts. In the time we've spent there over the years it has started to feel like a second home in a way. We have a comfort level with the island and every time we go it becomes easier to fall into "island time". Every time we go there I think we get a little closer to what is really important in life.
