jump!

Everyone loves to see celebrities acting undignified- whether it be exposing the fact that they have no panties on or getting arrested for a DWI- we love it.  We love to see people make fools out of themselves- especially if they are over privileged and we can't admit how jealous of them we are.  But sometimes its not about jealousy, it's about knowing people who seem to have everything are human, just like us.

Photographer Philippe Halsman was best known for his many Life magazine cover photos and this photograph of Salvador Dali.

CRAZY!  But then again, so was Salvador Dali.

Anyway Halsman understood what I was talking about earlier- how nice it is to see everyone as human.  At the end of his photoshoots he would often ask his subjects to jump.  Halsman said that with his "jumpology" method, "When you ask a person to jump, his attention is mostly directed toward the act of jumping and the mask falls so that the real person appears.”

See for yourself...

Don't you want to go jump on a bed?  It appears that you can not jump with out smiling- even if you're a total stiff.  I love how these pictures reflect each person's personality so well- the masks have fallen.
All of these fun pics I found on Mental Floss and the Laurence Miller Gallery, there are lots more to see but these were my favorites.:)
One more day till the long weekend!  Woop-woop!
